How To Reclaim Our Country

The best way to regain power and to return the power back to the people is to get involved. The Federal government has spent a lot of time and tax payers’ money teaching people that there is nothing they can do. I am going to let the cat out of the bag here. You will be able to get involved, get elected, and start to make a difference in your community and in your state. Most people in the government on the local level and on the Federal level has hidden most of this information from the American public for too long. I have worked very hard to find this out and most of it is pushed out of people’s sight so we are not able to make a change. Some of it may seem common sense, and some of it people will never find out about it on their own.

The two political power wheels have rolled over any type of movement that has tried to step up and correct some problem in the parties. If you try to get involved and make a change the people at the top put you to work handing out fliers, counting ballets, or just ask you to vote for them. This is done intentionally to keep you where you’re at, and to keep them where they are at. On top and out of reach from the 75%-80% of the American people. Although it is a great idea to start somewhere, it is not necessary to start at the bottom. If you do not have time to spend working your way through the political process, passing out fliers, or helping out people running for office, voting can be a perfect fit for you.  I will always recommend that you register to vote and cast your vote. And don’t do so for the lesser of two evils, but for the right person that represents your values. I will ask you not to let people in the political parties to lie and till you that it is ok to vote for the lesser of two evils. AN EVIL VOTE IS AN EVIL VOTE!  Remember that a vote for a Socialist or Marxist is still a vote for the same. It makes no difference if the candidate is from the Republican Party or the Democratic Party.

 Caucus & Delegate Guide

Here is a sample of the things our political parties will ask you to do. This comes off a flyer that I received on my door. A typical political flyer that claims they would like me to be involved in our government. But it gives no information on how to get involved with the government except to explain on how to vote in their favor.

    1. Become Informed

    2. Register as a supporter

           3. Distribute the movement's flyers

   4. Organize a neighborhood republic

          5. Participate in your local government

          6. Support America and vote

  7. Continue to support the government

  This is for the people that would like to return our country on constitutional principles, moral values, and conservative free market believes.

You will have to remember two main dates

1.     May 8 2010 - State Convention

2.     March 23 2010 - County Caucus

The most important elections in the state of Utah are the precinct caucus. In the Republican Party this is where you can become a delegate on the state level or county level. The delegates that get elected at the precinct caucus get to vote for the candidates that will represent the people of Utah. If 60% of the delegates agree on one candidate, that candidate then receives the party’s nomination and support. If two candidates receive the highest number of votes without going over 60% will move on to the general elections.

 The state of Utah has around 1725 precincts. Each precinct will contain no more than 1250 active voters. This is registered active voters not people that live in your community. All Citizens are invited to attend their precinct caucus and should attend to vote on their delegates. This caucus should contain everyone, not only registered voters. The important thing is just to show up and vote.  You will need to put this date on your calendar. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 7:00Pm. This is the day and time the delegates will be elected by the people in your community.

 So how would a person become a delegate and accomplish this;

1. Determine your voting precinct. This can be done one of three ways:

2. The second thing to find out is to determine your precinct caucus location:

3. Now that we have found our location and caucus precinct, we need to determine how much support you may have in your area. Identify other people in your precinct who will attend the caucus meeting with you. You can find you precinct boundaries by going to http://utahcountygop.com/ Remember to get people to attend that will vote for you. This may be people that would like to be involved but only on the voting level. This will give them more of a voice and will give you a stronger support system.

  • Find family, friends, neighbors, and business'
  • Ask members of your church.
  • Distribute information to the neighborhood and ask for a response from people that would like to support your efforts.

4. You will need to contact and coordinate potential supporters.  The most important thing to do is to stay in contact with people that will or may support you. You will need to plan a group of people attending the caucus with you. In the upcoming election, delegates are prepared to have as many people as possible show up and vote for them. So in your efforts, don’t discount the efforts of someone else. You will also have to decide if you would like to be a county delegate or a state delegate. You can run and be elected for both county and state positions. The state convention is on May 8 2010. This is where you can vote for the next US Senator.

5. Register to vote as a Republican. To be elected as a delegate or precinct officer at caucus, you need to be a registered republican. You will need to fill out the voters registration form and mail it in or register down town. You can attend the caucus meeting without being a registered republican, but you cannot be a delegate, officer, or a candidate. You need to be unaffiliated or a republican to vote in the caucus meetings.

One important thing you must remember is that when you have made the choice to become a delegate is to make sure everyone shows up to the caucus meeting. Contact all of your supporters by phone prior to the meeting and secure their commitment. Always arrive early and get seating. All meeting have an agenda that will be followed as the meeting starts and progresses. Typically the meeting will follow an agenda that looks and reads like this:

  • Welcome
  • Sign-in
  • Call to order
  • Prayer and Pledge
  • Read the platform
  • Collect donations and pledges
  • Elect Precinct Officers
  • Elect state and county delegates
  • Explain Check-a-buck
  • Collect e-mail address
  • Ask for election Judges
  • Wrap up and Adjournment

 The most important part of this meeting is the election of the precinct officers and state and county delegates. After the collection of donations, the elections will start and the caucus host will open the floor to nominations. This is the time to raise your hand and nominate who you are supporting or yourself. If there is a motion to close nominations before you are nominated, just raise your hand and say you wish to be nominated. You should also insist that the winner receive a majority of the votes.

Remember, you can run for any office and you have the right to be a candidate for any office on the state level and the Federal level. Elected representatives are people elected for the people by the people.

  Now that we have a good idea about how to become a delegate and get elected into office, there are a few more things to go over.

The first will be a summary of duties and their positions;

  • Chair: Attend Central Committee Meetings - This meeting is held once a quarter.
  • Vice Chair: Attend Central Committee Meetings - This meeting is held once a quarter.
  • Secretary: To provide notice of precinct meetings, take minutes, maintain historical documents.
  • Treasurer: Receive, account, and submit to the party monies collected on Caucus Night.
  • County Delegate: Attend the county convention. One each year
  • State Delegate: Attend the state convention. Once each year

The second would be who votes for whom;

  • County Delegates: Will vote for county officials and for state legislators whose districts lies within the county.
  • State Delegates: Will vote for federal officials and for Legislators whose district span two or more counties.

Now is the time to go over what will make a good and persuasive speech;

  • Always start with background: Home, family, community career.
  • Party experience: This will show that you understand what is expected of you in your position.
  • Why you are running: Give a fast description of why you are involved.
  • Promise: you need to be devoted and promise to give your time. Make sure you can study the candidate you will be voting for.
  • Strong Conclusion: Ask for their vote and support, reaffirm your promise and dedication.

Let’s go over delivery of the speech;

  • Practice: Beforehand read your speech over and over until you can give it smoothly without reading it.
  • Smile: Always smile and be friendly, good eye contact will keep people interested.
  • Heart: speak from the heart, show enthusiasm and energy.
  • Strength: emphasize your strengths and the things that you are good at.
  • Be concise: Make it as short as possible, give good fast information

 You should be ready to run for office at this point. With this information, you will have a huge hand over anyone else that you may run against.
